  • Let’s Talk About Jedburgh Town Hall

Come and talk to us about Jedburgh Town Hall on August 30th (11-2) at this drop in session and have your say on its future.

Jedburgh Community Arts is forming a plan to take Jedburgh Town Hall under community ownership. Such an historic and grand building deserves to the thriving centre of the town’s social and cultural life.

£1.3 million has been allocated from the Borderlands fund but to secure this we need to raise at least another £1.3 million in match funding.

To do this we need to reflect what the people of Jedburgh want from their Town Hall and show what a modern Town Hall can do for its community.

This opportunity is the best – and possibly last – chance to revitalise our town hall.

Drop in and talk to us and lets give Jedburgh the Town Hall it deserves.

  • Made In Jed – our first social

Made In Jed – our first social

On June 14th we invite you to join us for an informal social that celebrates creativity in Jedburgh.

There are two ways to get involved!

One; for all you makers out there, we ask you to bring along something to show. It could be a painting, a poem, a loaf of bread, a scarf, a birdhouse, an arrangement of flowers, a record, and book… you get the idea. Anything goes! And we’re not looking just for ‘professional’ creatives. If you made it and you live in (or near enough!) to Jed, bring it on down.

We’ll set up a mini, pop up exhibition where people can see you work. Just bring something along and we’ll do the rest.

Two: you might be a creative person. But you might love creativity! So come on down and see what people in your community are up to.

    Anything else?

Sure. It’s a chance to speak to other people who love a bit of creativity and making. It’s a chance to speak to us (Jedburgh Community Arts) about our work and the Town Hall project. And there’ll be colouring and lego building stations too.

We’re getting together in The Carter’s Rest on June 14th from 12pm – 2pm. If the sun is out, the beer garden and kids playground are just outside. We’d love to see you there!
